A true Parisian at heart,
Barbara Baumel was born, raised and still lives in France’s
capital with her husband and two sons. Her extensive career in fashion
began when she was only 17 at French Vogue. There Barbara
stayed on for 12 years as Fashion Editor and fondly remembers working
with the likes of Guy Bourdin and Helmut Newton.
Inspired by cinema, artists such as David Bowie,
and her own roots, Barbara’s style can be described as a blend
of sensual, classic Parisian glamour with an almost bold, rock ‘n
roll twist.
Always positive, witty and energetic, Barbara
also had the pleasure of collaborating with the following photographers
over the years: Michael Thompson, Patric Shaw, Kate Orne, Robert
Wyatt, Vincent Peters, Paolo Roversi, Nicolas Moore, Alexei Hay,
John Akehurst, Alix Malka, Koto Bolofo, Tom Munro, Oliver Spies,

Apart from her career at French Vogue,
Barbara has also collaborated with magazines such as Italian
Vogue, German and Italian editions of Marie Claire
and Italian Glamour. She is a regular contributor to Flair
and Spanish Vogue.
